How our rat & rodent removal process works

1. Full-structure inspection

Roof line, plumbing stacks, weep holes, garage seams, crawlspace vents, and utility penetrations. We document every opening with photos before quoting.

2. Seal the building envelope

Copper mesh, hardware cloth, sealant, and metal flashing on every gap. This is the step that actually ends the problem, and it's the step most bait-only programs skip.

3. Interior knockdown

Snap-trap grids and monitored stations inside the sealed envelope, checked on a set schedule until activity reaches zero.

4. Sanitize and monitor

Droppings removed, contaminated insulation treated or replaced, surfaces sanitized, and a follow-up check to confirm the seal is holding.

Why not just use poison?

Poison kills rodents inside your walls, which turns a rodent call into an odor call — and it does nothing about the entry point, so the next group moves in within weeks. It also poses a real secondary-poisoning risk to pets and owls.

How small a gap do they need?

A rat fits through about a quarter-inch opening and a mouse through about a dime-sized one. That's why exclusion is inch-by-inch work rather than a walk-around.

Roof rats or Norway rats — does it matter?

It changes where we work. Roof rats travel high: attics, rafters, palm trees, and power lines. Norway rats burrow low: crawlspaces, slabs, and foundation lines. Correct identification is what makes the seal complete.
